Covers all Chevrolet V-8 engines manufactured from 1955 through 1991
Long time NCRS member Ed McComas has just come out with a newly expanded fourth edition of his bright green "Lime" book that had been out of print for seemingly forever (over a decade?). This ultra-handy book is a quick reference guide for engine suffix codes sorted alphabetically by CODE. Those all-important few stamped characters can help to confirm that's the engine you need to buy or that's likely the correct engine still in the vehicle.
Data includes: Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle, Chevy II, Monte Carlo, Malibu, Monza, Nova, Chevrolet truck, GMC truck, and full-size passenger car.
Topics include:
- Chevrolet V-8 engines
- Chevrolet V-8 engine identification
- Chevrolet V-8 engine plant stamp format
- Chevrolet V-8 engine assembly date
- "CE" Chevrolet V-8 engine code
- Original engine determination
Ed has also written a companion publication, The Lemon Book. It covers the identical information, only it is sorted alphabetically by VEHICLE, so you can quickly determine which engine you are looking for. Both include heavy truck and marine engines. The Lemon Book is currently out of print.
